Bedtime story

Back to the beach on Sunday morning…

James went camping for the first time this weekend. We went out to Pike Lake Saturday afternoon, stayed over Saturday night and came back Sunday morning. He LOVED it! He had a fabulous time at the beach, LOVED playing in our campsite and all of the stuff around the park. Nighttime wasn’t great, mostly because it was really noisy, but James did really, really well.
Sorry we’ve been MIA. Life has left little time to come on here and update all of you who still read this site (echo…echo…echo…).
Things are well with us. We’ve been spending all of our free time outside. Our deck is now complete (including a NEW patio set!) and the underground sprinklers are in! Our veggie garden is planted as are our ‘flower beds’. The backyard has topsoil that is now level and grass seed doing it’s thing.
When we’re not outside working on the yard, we’re outside playing with James. He has taken a liking to dirt and wants to spend most of his waking moments outside digging in and eating the dirt. Or going to the park. When we went to the park last night he was QUITE insistent that he go down the slides all by himself. It was great to see him exert his independence.
James is slowly starting to say more words. His favourite expression at the moment is ‘uh-oh’. He knows many of his body parts and likes pointing them out on himself and anyone else around (including his stuffed animals!).
This past week was my first night away from James. I had to go to Regina overnight for work, so Dave and James had their boys night. It sounded like things went really well. I don’t think they got as much sleep as they both would have liked, but other then that, they had a blast. I did relatively well too…enjoying my evening ALONE, no one wanting anything from me
But I was very happy to come home and I think they were both happy to see me.
So that’s us in a nutshell. I will try to get some pictures to post on here soon. I think life is going to slow down a bit for all of us soon.
Yesterday we went to the Saskatoon Zoo and had a blast. Here are some pics:

James has a cold right now. I don’t think I’ve ever seen his nose run like this before
He’s in relatively good spirits despite the cold.
